So two young men used the N word today as I passed them on my way to work...but I understand that Black in Romanian is Negru....still they were smirking. I'll just ignore.

I should teach you some romanians words to use next time. Dont you just hate it, when people use "a politically correct word" to their advantage. Like in this case, if say you could report them, they could say, they called out "wow check out that Negru /black lady". Keep your chin up, its only for a little while.
Hey TM, unfortunately, you will come across many more such people. PC-ness is not a familiar concept in Eastern Europe or to most Eastern Europeans.Just don't let them affect your psyche.

Ignore and walk past cos it's not your name. It astounds me that some of these places still live in the dark ages.
I remember when we went to Czech republic for our honeymoon, we were being starred at constantly, like they had never seen a black person before. My wife was extremely uncomfortable.
